If you’re looking for down home, Southern-style cooking, then you should to check out Marie’s at Ummat’s Café. A long-term staple in the Atlanta Muslim community, their menu serves up halal heartwarming meals. You can order many dishes to satisfy your comfort food cravings. Their Halal Soul food menu includes sweet potato hush puppies, fried catfish, and chicken and waffles. You can host your meeting or event there and it is also very kid-friendly. The restaurant is right next door to the Atlanta Masjid of Al-Islam. You can always pop into the mosque for prayer and visit Marie’s for a bite to eat!

Poppin Pita Grill is another delicious eatery, located around the corner from Masjid Al Farooq. They pride themselves on providing delicious, authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. Zyka’s is an awesome restaurant serving mouth-watering Indian cuisine. Located in Decatur, Zyka has received many great reviews on Tripadvisor.com, Foursquare.com and Yelp.com. They serve great halal dishes such as their famous Chicken 65, Chicken Masala and, Beef Boti. They also serve traditional Indian vegetarian options like Vegetable Biryani and Paneer Makhni. Zyka offers catering and they also have a beautiful banquet hall, often used for weddings and other special events.

The Halal Guys, known as the famous New York franchise, has finally come to Georgia! Halal Guys started as a food cart in New York City. People would stand in line for hours just to taste their delicious chicken and rice covered in with their famous White Sauce. Located in Chamblee (northeast of Atlanta), The Halal Guys opened this year to great reviews and much fanfare. Offering a mix of Mediterranean and American cuisine, you can try their beef gyro or chicken platters and sandwiches. The menu has simple selection of mainstream Middle East dishes along with baklava for dessert. You can order online and catering is also available.

Located in Duluth, UrbanTaali is a restaurant and food-truck, serving up their delicious fusion of Asian, Middle Eastern and American cuisine. Taali means “dishes or plates” in Hindi and they have added their own unique urban Atlanta flavor. Try out the Dirty Bird Philly steak sandwich, topped with onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, chipotle sauce with white American cheese.
