The Islamic Society of South Atlanta (ISSA) strives to promote Islamic worship, educational, and social services to the diverse Muslim community in Stockbridge. Furthermore, it hopes to serve as a center to bring people of all walks of life together to promote the teachings of Islam and build bonds between families, businesses and organizations insh’Allah.
With the many blessings of Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) and the support of the community, Islamic Society of South Atlanta was first established in Ramadan of 2010. We gathered to pray at the gym of Methodist Church located on Walt Stephens Road. At the gym, Muslims gathered to perform the Taraweeh prayers daily and concluded the blessed month with Eid salaah. Looking at the positive feedback from the community, Islamic Society of South Atlanta transferred its hopes and dreams to a clubhouse located in the subdivision of Brentwood (also located on Walt Stephens Road). Again, Muslims gathered every Friday to attend the Khutba and then the Jummah Salaah.
Due to Allah’s blessings, we have now found a 6,000 square foot unit to provide a welcoming worship space for the diverse Muslim community in Henry County and its surrounding vicinity. We are located on the backside of Brooklyn Pavillion Plaza.
Some of our services include:
1) Congregational Friday Sermons (Jummah)
2) Sunday School for ages 6 and up
3) Taraweeh Prayers and Eid Salaah (Ifthaar held every Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
4) Islamic Lectures/Workshops
5) Dawah outreach
Inshallah with your support, we hope to continue to grow and meet the needs of the Muslim community and our interfaith neighbors.
