Many State legislatures are considering a ban on Islamic Shariah. This issue has become contentious and polarizing. However, there is a tremendous lack of understanding of Islamic Shariah and its role in the lives of Muslims and their civil liberties as well as its impact of society at large.
Additionally, there are many legal challenges associated with this legislation. This discussion will address the above issues in an understandable manner with the hope that there will emerge a greater understanding and sensitivity to the issues involved.
