The much anticipated debut of the documentary film, An American Mosque, is happening Thursday, March 29th at 5:00pm at the Landmark Midtown Art Cinema as part of the Atlanta Film Festival. An American Mosque is an intimate portrait of Muslim farmers and their effort to build a house of worship in California. The film tells of the unprecedented attack on their masjid in 1994 -- the first masjid to be destroyed by an act of hatred in the United States. Despite the tragedy, the farmers are unrelenting in their dream for a religious sanctuary. This ultimately hopeful film is a cautionary tale showing the consequences of intolerance.
