Saturday, April 26th, legendary martial artist Sijo Abdul Mutakkabir returns to the Atlanta Masjid for a special S.W.A.M. self defense seminar. S.W.A.M. is an acronym which stands for Spiritual Warriors Against Madness and Strong Wise Achieving Minds. The reality is that we live in a world in which everyone does not make prayer a part of daily life and many individuals do not have your best interest at heart. We must always prepare ourselves for the battle yet to come. This particular seminar will focus on specific self defense techinques and strategies that when mastered will arm you with the ability and confidence to get yourself or your loved ones out of a bad situation. Self defense, actually begins before a situation starts. To paraphrase a famous samurai saying, seeing the dynamic of a situation before it begins is an art of war. This means that the best defense is one that prevents a situation from even happening to begin with. In S.W.A.M. the saying is always come in peace but be prepared to take one in pieces.

To that end Master Mutakkabir and the S.W.A.M. family are opening this event for the entire community to attend. Inshallah, this will be first of a series of seminars that will teach life saving techinues for the protection of the mind, body, and soul. The seminar will be held at the Clara Mohammad Elementary School, in the musallah, from 12 noon-4pm and will only be $50 for advanced registration($80 the day of).
