What is The Beginning of Guidance?
Imam Ghazali’s Bidayat al-Hidaya (The Beginning of Guidance) is a practical manual detailing the fundamentals of acquiring guidance through God-consciousness (taqwa). The book outlines how a Muslim should conduct his/her daily routine according to Quran and Sunnah.
The three sections of this book are on obedience, refraining from disobedience, and the etiquette of companionship with the Creator and with creation.
Instructor's Biography
Mufti Samir was born in Atlanta, Georgia, where he completed his initial schooling. Inspired by the beautiful recitation of the Holy Quran at a local masjid, he decided to commit the entire Quran to memory. He enrolled in Darul Uloom Atlanta and completed his memorization of Quran (Hifz) there. Thereafter, he enrolled in the prestigious seminary Darul Uloom Al-Madania in Buffalo to commence on a six year intensive study of the core disciplines of a traditional Islamic education such as Arabic, Tafsir (Quranic Exegesis), Hadith (Prophetic Traditions), Fiqh (Jurisprudence) and other related disciplines.
As the new branch of the seminary opened in Chatham, Ontario by the name of Darul Uloom Canada, he relocated to it and completed his graduation there, gaining Ijazas or authorizations to teach the various subjects, most notably, the six most authentic books of Hadith, namely, Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan At-Tirmidhi, Sunan an-Nasai, Sunan ibn Majah and Sunan Abu Dawud.
