GT Diversity Week's Keynote Address by Eboo Patel
Eboo Patel is the brilliant and world-renowned Founder and President of the Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC), a movement so visionary/impactful as to bring on a paradigm shift in how we can be together in the world :). His contribution honors all worldviews including religious and non-religious traditions, and in this way, the whole of our diverse, collective American society. His bridge building is inspired by his faith as a Muslim, his Indian heritage, and his American citizenship.
On his upcoming talk @ GT: "America is the most religiously diverse nation in human history and the most religiously devout nation in the West in an era of global religious conflict. Will faith be a barrier of division or a bridge of cooperation? Eboos core belief is that religion is a bridge of cooperation rather than a barrier of division. Hes inspired to build this bridge by his faith as a Muslim, his Indian heritage, and his American citizenship. He has spoken about this vision at places like the TED conference, the Clinton Global Initiative, and the Nobel Peace Prize Forum, as well as university campuses across the country. He has written two books about interfaith cooperation, Acts of Faith and Sacred Ground. A reception will follow. This presentation is a part of the Presidents Interfaith and Community Service Campus Challenge." Following the talk, there will be a book-signing!
