Heart disease is the leading killer the US, and causes nearly 600,000 deaths each year, according to the CDC. To help raise awareness, Madina Institute is pleased to host our 1st Annual Health Fair, this February 21st themed, How's your Heart: A focus on Cardiovascular Health.
The Health Fair schedule is:
9:30am to 1:00pm – Health Fair Screenings
12:00pm to 2:30pm – Specialist Lectures
9:30am to 2:30pm – Red Cross Blood Drive
The Health Fair will feature:
+ A Blood Drive in partnership with the American Red Cross Association
+ Medical Consultations by practicing, specialty physicians
+ Blood Pressure, Body Mass Index (BMI), & Blood Sugar Testing
+ Kids Corner & Nutrition 101
Additionally, we'll have 3 Specialist Presentations by our very own physicians:
+ Warning Signs & Symptoms of Heart Attack (Dr. Mirza Ahmed; Cardiology)
+ Managing your Cholesterol (Dr. Mirza Ahmed; Cardiology)
+ Childhood Obesity & Risk for Early Hypertension (Dr. Sofia Chaudhary; Pediatrics)
+ Diabetes Management & Prevention of Complications (Dr. Faheem Taha; Forensic Medicine)
Light refreshments & snacks will be provided throughout the day.
To participate in our Blood Drive with the Red Cross, you must sign up and select a time slot before the event! This is very important as Red Cross requires 50 pre-registered participants before they'll actually come out on the 21st. Please don't delay & sign up today!
