Servants of Allah presents: Ummati: My Nation, My Community
You've heard it before: "We're the youth, we're the future of the community, and everything depends on us." So what does this actually mean for us? How can we, the "not-so-youth," build on a community, and support our ummah given the current climate of the world? How can we be the future when we cannot imagine where we'll be in five, ten, or fifteen years?
They're not wrong when they say we're the future. They're not wrong when they say that everything depends on us. Over 1400 years ago, Prophet Muhammad (saw) had similar concerns for the community and for the future of his ummah. He prayed for Muslims of the future to be
great, like we wish for our community and its own future. Given this concern that Prophet Muhammad (saw) once faced, we can use his life and example to solve our own issues and afflictions. Through the sunnah and life of the Prophet Muhammad (saw), we can figure out what
we're going to do. We can figure out how to go about benefiting our community. We can figure out what to do about helping our ummah.
Join your community of young Muslims (ages 13 to 30) and embark on a journey of discovery, learning, and Islamic knowledge. Complete with activities, open discussions, and lectures, we will learn how to do it together, in a comfortable setting open to all young Muslims.
Please join us for Ummati: My Nation, My Community on Friday, March 27 after Salatul Maghribh (8:00PM) at Masjid Omar bin Abdul Aziz and on Saturday, March 28 at 12:00 PM at Masjid Hamzah.
