This program will introduce participants to the major issues in the history of Islam, one of the major Abrahamic religions. It is intended as a series of introductory lectures on major themes in the history of Muslim societies and how they relate to contemporary events. No prior knowledge of Islam is required. This program is open to public but registration is required. Class is taught by Dr. Mustafa Sahin, Director of Academic Affairs at the Atlantic Institute.
Suggested Book: Vision of Islam by Sachiko Murata and William Chittick. Paragon House.
Fees: Participation fee for adults $12 per class. Fee for College and High School students is $6 per class. Please write checks payable to the Atlantic Institute. Light refreshments will be served.
