Since the Syrian Uprising in March of 2011, many civilians fled to Jordan with nothing. Seeking shelter in a different country, many Syrians turned to Jordanian citizens and humanitarian aid for help. It has been four years and Syrian refugees, the vast majority being widows and orphans, have not been receiving the proper aid. As the Atlanta community, we should be doing our part in alleviating the suffering of our brothers and sisters.

Until November 15th, we have the opportunity to collect various food items to feed 650 families, as well as new winter clothing for the harsh and cold winters in the region. Helping Hand for Relief and Development plans on sending this food and clothing container to Jordan with YOUR help. The container will benefit Syrian refugees in Jordan.

Food items needed:
1. Great Value Long Grain Enriched Rice (20 lbs)
2. Golden Medal All Purpose Flour (10 Lbs)
3. Gallon Great Value Vegetable Oil (1 Gal)
4. Great Value Pinto Beans (DRY not canned) (8 Lbs)
5. Great Value Pure Sugar (10 lbs)

*ALL FOOD ITEMS MUST BE PURCHASED AT WALMART. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE FOOD ITEMS ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE ABOVE DESCRIPTIONS, OR THEY WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. ALSO, FOOD ITEMS MUST NOT EXPIRE WITHIN THE NEXT YEAR. REASON FOR ONE BRAND FOOD ITEMS IS FOR FASTER CLEARANCE FROM CUSTOMS.
